Our Story
The birthplace of Aseanz was far from ordinary, much like our journey since. It all started in 2018, amidst the bustling streets and vibrant culture of Vientiane, Laos.
Amid the crowd, a chance encounter in the corridor of an apartment building sowed the seeds of a partnership between two individuals.
Both New Zealand natives, David and Damon found common ground, their serendipitous meeting setting the stage for an enterprise built on shared roots, passion, and vision.
As the conversations deepened over the following weeks, so too did the mutual respect and synergy between the two.
Their shared experiences and perspective laid the groundwork for collaborations, which soon spanned across borders.
The ensuing five years witnessed their efforts bear fruit in various projects across Hong Kong, Cambodia, Thailand, and finally, amid the global upheaval of the COVID-19 pandemic, back to their home in New Zealand.
With over two decades of living and working in Asia, both David and Damon have woven a vast network of personal and business relationships in the region.
These deep ties and the comprehensive understanding of the Asian business landscape were instrumental in their continued success even when the pandemic limited their physical movement.
Being back in New Zealand did not diminish their focus on Asia but rather fostered a shift in approach, adapting to new circumstances and possibilities.
With the pandemic’s echoes fading, Aseanz Ltd was formally incorporated in New Zealand in September 2022.
Since then, the company has evolved and grown, navigating challenges and seizing opportunities.
